Hi, my name is Susan, I' ashamed that I have to ask strangers to help us. This is our only hope, that were not put out in the street soon.
Here's whats happened to me and my family this past year with no medical insurance for either of us. My mother had emergency open heart surgery in March 19, 2006. The bills shes received have been enormous. I was laid off from my job on April 6,2006.
Finally I got a job in September 10, 2006 making 6.00 hr partime. So I kept searching, Got another Job working during the week. I worked partime job on weekends, the other job during the week making 8.50 hr, standing and lifting for 9 1/2 hrs a day with 2/15 minute breaks, no lunch.
I had been there only about 2 weeks.
when I was injured, my achilles tendon completely cut into on my left leg. I was taken to a nearby hospital where surgery was done. workers comp denied me. I received a check for the days I worked in the amount of 398.00.
I paid as many of the bills as i could with it. which wasnt many, I dont know what my mother and I are going to do. I was to be helping my mother, working the extra job. Now I was told by the doctor who did my surgery I will not be able to work for atleast 3 months or more. We have been refused for any kind of help from my state. I figured the amount of are monthly needs is 1550.00 a month, including my mother and the medicine which we cannot afford to get now. Theres no way we can pay the medical bills, The total for both of us is over 100,000.00 I know that my situation is not forever, the doctor reports the least time before i can return to work is 3 months. Also he said that I would need physical therapy , Theres no way I can afford that, If any one could help us. We would be most thankful, I am behind on my car payment already, the doctor wants some sort of payment to continue to see me. My mothers healing time is taking longer as she is a dibetic also.
